We are an official HABRUS partner!
HABRUS is a German craftsman company based in Regen in the Bavarian Forest, specializing in the production of high-quality ski and snowboard tools.
The company offers a wide range of products, including waxes, edge sharpeners, and structuring devices for cross-country and alpine skiing. The products are manufactured directly in Germany and are known for their quality and durability. The folding waxing stand for cross-country and alpine skiing is particularly popular because it is not only very stable but also lightweight and compact, making it easy to handle. Additionally, the rotor brushes for brushing the ski base impress with their excellent craftsmanship and long-lasting durability.
We are especially impressed by the Habrus waxing irons with a microprocessor for precise temperature control and a solid heating plate that ensures even wax application. The professional waxers are available in both digital and analog versions.
Compared to the budget waxing iron, the digital waxing iron has a digital temperature display that allows for precise temperature adjustments. For some time now, Habrus has also been offering high-quality ski wax for both hobbyists and professionals. In addition to basic waxes for training, low-fluor and high-fluor waxes, as well as specialty waxes, complement the range. In our ski workshop near Passau, we exclusively use Habrus waxes for ski and snowboard services, as these waxes not only impress with their high abrasion resistance and excellent glide properties but also offer great value for money.
We also stock race wax, Teflon wax, wax for artificial snow, and wax for indoor ski halls for special conditions. Professionals know that besides ski wax, the structure of the base and the tuning of the ski are crucial. Those who are knowledgeable and deeply involved in ski maintenance will eventually structure their own skis to suit snow conditions.
For this purpose, Habrus offers various structuring devices for cross-country and alpine skiing. Whether linear ski structures, V structures, or X structures, anything is possible with these devices. For alpine skis, edge sharpening is also a major topic. Habrus offers various edge tuners, edge sharpeners, file guides, and the corresponding files for sharpening steel edges. You’ll also find aluminum oxide stones, base repair strips (repair candles), ski stoppers, and sidewall planers in our shop.

With the stable edge tuner and a suitable file (not included), you can easily sharpen the side edge of your alpine skis or snowboard. You can individually adjust the file angle from 88° to 85° using various spacers. With just a few strokes, the side edge will be flat and sharp again. The edge tuner is very stable with its 3mm thick stainless steel plate and weighs 250g, making it comfortable to handle. The large opening for chip removal prevents shavings from being pressed into the base.Which setting is the right one?In general, it can be said: The sharper the angle of the edges, the more aggressive the edge. This means the skis grip better and respond faster than with blunter edges. The smaller you set the angle, the sharper and more aggressive the ski becomes. For recreational skiers, we sharpen the base edges at 0.5° and the side edges at 88° in our workshop. This gives the edges a very good compromise between agility and aggressiveness. Which file is the right one?If the edge is heavily damaged, the burrs must be removed with an aluminum oxide stone before grinding. Then, we recommend using the medium file for initial grinding. After a few even strokes and an initial flat grind, we recommend switching to the fine file. Now, the edges will be ground flat properly.
With the short fine file, you have a high-quality finishing file to sharpen the side edges of your skis or snowboard. If the edge has strong burrs or has developed some rust, we recommend using the aluminum oxide stone before filing. Then, in the first pass, sharpen the edge with a medium file. Simply clamp the file in the edge tuner and use long, even strokes to flatten the side edges. After that, switch to this fine file and make the edge perfectly flat.Size: 100mm x 25mm x 5mm
